Committee of the Whole

THAT , Council appoint Stephen Rothwell as the Community Emergency Management Coordinator for the Township of Lanark Highlands; AND THAT Council appoint Nicole Guthrie and Suzanne Charbonneau-Dent as alternative Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC); AND THAT By-law 2019-1557 be repealed; AND THAT By-law 2024-1931, be adopted as being a by-law to appoint an Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC); AND FURTHER THAT the appointment by-law be brought to the Council meeting on 8 October 2024, for passage.

THAT staff be directed to proceed with credit card use for Burnpermits.com; AND THAT Lanark Highlands burn permit fee remains at $5.00.

THAT , Council receives the third quarter fire report for information as presented.

THAT, the Council of the Township of Lanark Highlands receive the Procurement Policy as information; AND THAT, the Procurement Policy be brought forward for review and approval at a future Committee of the Whole meeting.

THAT, the Council of the Township of Lanark Highlands receive the Employee Code of Conduct as information; AND THAT , the Employee Code of Conduct be brought forward for review and approval at a future Committee of the Whole meeting.

THAT , the Committee of the Whole meeting adjourn at 7:30 p.m.

THAT, the communications dated 8 October 2024 be received as information.

THAT, the Council of the Township of Lanark Highlands supports consent applications B24-105, B24-106 and B24-107 (1126432 Ontario Inc.) subject to the Township’s conditions of consent listed in Appendix F.

THAT Council approves the appointment of Donna Schonauer as Acting Treasurer for the Township of Lanark Highlands. AND THAT the appointment by-law be brought to the Council meeting on 8 October 2024, for passage.

THAT, Council authorize staff to award the Winter Maintenance Material tender to Arnott Brothers Construction at the following depots with the associated cost (including non-recoverable HST):  Middleville Depot; Stone Dust for $92,805  McDonalds Corners Depot; Screened Sand for $47,318  Joe’s Lake Depot; Screened Sand for $17,300 AND THAT, this matter be brought to the Council meeting of 8 October 2024 in order to proceed with arranging the delivery and stacking of the material in the Depots.
